Rec and Park is applying for a United States Environmental Protection Agency Brownfields Cleanup Grant to assist in remediating legacy contaminated subsurface soil at India Basin Shoreline Park (Hunters Point Boulevard and Hawes Street). This property is a 7.5-acre park site that will be renovated as a part of the larger India Basin Waterfront Park Project, which opened its first portion at 900 Innes Avenue last month.

As part of the grant application process, Rec and Park will hold a public meeting at the Shipwright's Cottage community room in India Basin Waterfront Park (900 Innes Avenue) on Thursday, November 14 beginning at 1 p.m. We will discuss the draft grant proposal and receive comments on it and the proposed use of funds.
