SCHEMATIC DESIGN PHASE
900 INNES PARK
In 2019, through a generous contribution from the John Pritzker Family Foundation, the India Basin project was able to kick-off its Schematic Design (SD) phase for the 900 Innes and India Basin Shoreline Park project. The design team led by Gustafson Guthrie and Nichol (GGN), along with the Recreation and Parks Department, the Trust for Public Land, A. Philip Randolph Institute, and the San Francisco Parks Alliance, held interim activations, attended community events, facilitated a community meeting and open house, hosted an online survey to collect additional input and feedback related to community uses and opportunities around operations and programming, material choices and public art, with the goal of enriching the design and ensuring the future parks are a true asset for, and a reflection of the vibrant Bayview community.
The Schematic Design is the phase of project development where the architects' drawings begin to illustrate the spatial relationships between site elements (i.e. buildings, paths, structures, landscaping) and informs the look and feel of the spaces. On February 10, 2020,the project's Schematic Designs were reviewed by the SF Arts Commission Civic (SFAC) Design Review Committee and the Bay Conservation Development Commission (BCDC) Design Review Board with positive feedback.
In 2020, the project will continue to develop upon the Schematic drawings and the project will enter its Design Development phase. More to come.
